Javier is a technology and finance professional, experienced across strategy, operations, and M&A. He is currently part of the Corporate Development team at Gopuff, working to build the best ecommerce delivery company in the world. Previously he was a Technology Investment Banker at Morgan Stanley and Houlihan Lokey, partnering with founders and CEOs across M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory.
He is a co-founder of L18T Capital, which invests in early-stage technology companies and of The Maguey Exchange which is bringing transparency and sustainability to the Mezcal industry. He previously worked at Dunrath Capital, a technology-focused growth equity firm in Chicago.
Javier began his career at Intel Corp. where he worked in Intel’s highest-growth businesses; he was part of the founding team of the Internet of Things Group business unit and managed a P&L within the Data Center Group. He also partnered with Intel Capital on several Corporate Dev / M&A transactions.
Javier is also particularly interested in expanding the pipeline of opportunities for diverse talent in the world of business. He is an active fellow with the Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) and sits on the D&I Board of The University of Chicago. He also remains involved with the Robert Toigo Foundation and National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC). He is a former instructor at Arizona State University and an informal advisor to several small companies. Javier has also bootstrapped small personal ventures and is an avid real estate investor.
Javier obtained his B.A. in Business Finance at the University of Washington Foster School of Business where he served as the chair of the Hispanic Business Student Association and his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business where he was elected to serve on the Graduate Business Council. Javier remains as an advisor to the UW Finance Association. He holds the Series 63 and 79 licenses.
